Joe Kort is the owner, founder, and clinical director of Center for Relationship Health in Royal Oak. A board-certified clinical sexologist, psychotherapist, author of four books, lecturer, and facilitator of therapeutic workshops, Dr. Kort has spent 41 years in the field helping individuals and couples create healthier, more authentic, and connected lives.

 
Throughout his four decades in private practice, Dr. Kort has integrated a range of therapeutic modalities to help hundreds of individuals and couples navigate relationship challenges, sexual concerns, trauma recovery, and identity development. In addition to his ongoing psychotherapy practice, he offers intensive therapy experiences for both individuals and couples seeking focused, accelerated therapeutic work.

Dr. Kort specializes in marital conflict and relationship challenges; mixed-orientation marriages; male sexuality and sexual health concerns; compulsive or out-of-control sexual behaviors; sexual identity exploration; childhood sexual abuse recovery; LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapy; male sexual fluidity; and Imago Relationship Therapy.

He is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals recover from trauma, anxiety, distressing memories, nightmares, insomnia, abuse, and other overwhelming life experiences.
