Dr. Tim van de Grift obtained his medical degree from the University of Amsterdam after which he started as a researcher at the VU University Medical Center’s “Center for Expertise on Gender Dysphoria” in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
After obtaining his PhD (cum laude) he now works as a psychiatrist and sexologist in training as well as assistant professor. His research focuses on psychosexual outcomes and decision-making around treatments for trans and intersex individuals. He coauthored multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, is in the editorial board of journals in the field of sex research and was recently awarded a 5-year research fellowship grant to study mental health of trans individuals after medical transition.
